Rest In Peace - Baatin
Slum Village performing at Rock the Bells - Aug 1st. Baatin (R.I.P) from The Freshest on Vimeo.
On my journey I read this inspirational piece which I felt was fitting to begin understanding the man.
His name itself is even significant.
Baatin: Literally, this means “concealed.” In practice, this refers to the idea that the real sense of the Holy Scripture is hidden beneath the literal meaning of the words. It is only accessible to those who are adept at reasoning and thinking. A person who devotes himself to studying such hidden meanings can be called a batini.
